Are you more like Joseph (avoid conflict) or
Jacob (stir up conflict)?
Think of your latest conflict.
What was really at the core of the problem?
What was the other person’s side of the story?
What was the other person’s side of the story?
Did the problem build over time? How?
Think of several scenerios that could have changed the outcome of your conflict. (Get silly, think out of the box!)
Now, choose the best solution, even if that isn’t what you actually did.

Pray---
“Dear God, Thank you for our ability to think. Thank you for your example in Jesus
Christ. Thank you for your Holy
Spirit that lives in us and can quicken our thoughts to yours. Help us, Lord, when we find ourselves
in the middle of conflict to stop and to stay stopped until we can think things
through. Protect us and keep us in
our stopped moments from those who would have us react instead of thoughtfully
solving our problems. Help us to
hold strong and not get swept away by the emotions of the moment. Help us to remember that you are in
control of both sides of the conflict and that your ultimate desire is
good. Help us to glorify you in
our actions and reactions before, during, and after conflict. Amen.”
