We are looking for "stay-at-home" Moms and Grandmoms, Dads and Grandads, that need some time off or some time to get some things done and wouldn't mind helping others do the same.  Here's how it works:  volunteer to watch children one Tuesday and get the next Tuesday off.  The more "watchers" we have, the more Tuesday breaks you get.
Moms Morning Out is open on Tuesday mornings from 8:30-11:30.  Volunteer today!

Hebron's Facelift

Facelift begins here.

Painting was a must. Wood damage found must be repaired.
Hebron's facelift was begun in 2011.  Here's a look at the progress that has been made.

Next tasks: clean and paint steps, add bulletin board to entry

One bush was taken out and smaller bushes were added for a more balanced look.

Work continues.....

Easter Egg Hunt

Young and old enjoyed hiding and finding eggs as a reminder of the blessings you find when you search for the Lord's will and blessings!
We are reminded that the egg may look dead but inside their is life, just like Christ's body on the cross and the tomb that was found open with nothing inside because the life inside had arisen!
enjoy more pictures of our fun day....

A Look Back--Civil War Anniversary Recognition

A celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War was held at Hebron Presbyterian Historical Church and Cemetery on April 21, 2012, where over 20 veterans of the war are buried.  Included in the celebration were re-enactments, memorials, a 21-gun salute, and bluegrass music. It was a beautiful day for recognizing an important part of the history of this community.

We have a phone

Well, the church has a phone!  We just got it last year!  Yep, we've stepped into this century!  Well, not really.  If you call it, you will only get a voicemail.  We will actually have to call you back because we do not have an actual phone!  In today's world, our cell phones are what we all use and we don't keep someone on staff to sit and answer a phone.  We mostly just needed a phone number to get us in the phone book and on GPS and mapquest and such.  But just like the boy in this story, if you call us, we will try to give you what you need. So, enjoy this story and call when you need us....we will get back to you!!

THE TELEPHONE ON THE WALL original author unknown

When I was a young boy, my father had one of the first telephones in our neighborhood.  I remember the polished, old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my mother talked to it.

Then I discovered that somewhere inside the wonderful device lived an amazing person. Her name was "Information Please" and there was nothing she did not know. Information Please could supply anyone's number and the correct time.

My personal experience with the genie-in-a-bottle came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbor. Amusing myself at the tool bench in the basement, I whacked my finger with a hammer, the pain was terrible, but there seemed no point in crying because there was no one home to give sympathy.

Photo Gallery-Wild Water Week

Wild Water Week was a great week of learning from water stories found in the Bible!  From Moses basket traveling down the river to the plagues to the parting of the Red Sea!  From Jonah's experience of a storm and being swallowed by a whale! From Noah following God's directions and saving the world from a flood!  From miracles of water to wine, walking on water, finding fish in empty waters, and the baptism of Christ!  From all of these stories we learned to depend on and obey God, even when it seems like He is asking the impossible!
Oragami snakes reminded us of Moses' miraculous staff!

Homecoming, A Memorable Day

click here to search for specific graves
Homecoming on the first Sunday in August was again a memorable day.  Seeing faces that we haven't seen in a while.  Seeing how children had grown in a year.  Being served communion by our oldest returning part of the family, Roy Coker, and by our Presbytery Moderator, Joyce Rife.  Worshiping along-side Angela Whidby, Franklin County Commissioner.  Hearing the beautiful voices of Carolyn Ross and Heather Martin.  Being motivated to serve God completely with body, mind, and soul by Pastor Rick Billingslea.  Meeting with the Historical Society. Purchasing Commemorative Bricks from the original chimney that was found still intact in the attic of the church. Taking pictures of friends and family (Pictures may be e-mailed to hebronpch@windstream.net for posting!) Wandering through the cemetery remembering past saints. Eating traditional, family recipes as we shared a meal on the grounds. Praising God with over 125 of His children.  Yes, Homecoming was again a memorable day.  Thanks to all who came--we hope it was worth the trip!

One Night with a King

Our women's bible study was great tonight! Complete with popcorn and chocolate! And the movie stayed fairly true to the Bible!! It was a great way to review the study of Esther that we had done before! Thanks for all those who helped put it together! I can't wait for next Monday, when we start the study of Ruth! Anyone is welcome to join us at 6:00!!
